The Dreamscape Universe of An Aspiring Scribe

"One describes a tale best by telling the tale. You see? The way one describes a story, to oneself or to the world, is by telling the story. It is a balancing act and it is a dream. The more accurate the map, the more it resembles the territory. The most accurate map possible would be the territory, and thus would be perfectly accurate and perfectly useless. The tale is the map that is the territory." --Neil Gaiman, 'American Gods'

Holding My Breath...

So I handed in a resume to the downtown Chapters on Thursday. I got a call back from them on Sunday afternoon. I'm going in for a "group interview" tonight.

With luck, I'll be employed soon enough at a bookstore. We're talking about my dream summer job here: working with books, organizing them, maybe helping other people find the ones they want. And it all means I'll be able to afford a manual SLR camera and take up photography, plus getting that DVD set or that deluxe edition book that I want so badly. I'm extraordinarily nervous, but excited at the same time. Here's hoping it all goes well.

Be seeing you,
Steven
