The Dreamscape Universe of An Aspiring Scribe

"One describes a tale best by telling the tale. You see? The way one describes a story, to oneself or to the world, is by telling the story. It is a balancing act and it is a dream. The more accurate the map, the more it resembles the territory. The most accurate map possible would be the territory, and thus would be perfectly accurate and perfectly useless. The tale is the map that is the territory." --Neil Gaiman, 'American Gods'

A Mozart Weekend

So I find that I forgot to mention one of the highlights of my weekend: my very first classical music concert. It was at Vancouver's Orpheum Theatre on Good Friday night. The CBC Radio Orchestra performed Eine Kleine Nachtmusik first, and then they were joined by the Vancouver Chamber Choir and the Trinity Western University Masterworks Chorale for the Requiem Mass In D Minor. I was very excited to finally hear classical music in concert, and by one of my favourite composers.
And yesterday I went to spend some of my birthday money at a classical records store. I was prepared to spend a considerable amount. I found a 10-CD set of Mozart's piano concertos...for $29.99! It was incredible. So I can also get a biography of Mozart tomorrow, and a complete set of his symphonies down the road a bit.
Hey, what can I say? It's his 250th birthday.

Be seeing you,
Steven
